Client: Harris County / Houston Ship Channel Security District
Proudly partnered with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), the Shrader Engineering team was selected to provide engineering design services to the Harris County Public Infrastructure Department for the installation of a sophisticated surveillance system designed to protect 52 miles of the Houston Ship Channel.
Formed by Texas legislation and represented by Harris County, The Houston Ship Channel Security District is a unique public-private partnership developed to improve the security and safety for facilities, employees and the many communities surrounding them.
Shrader Engineering was chosen to design a robust security solution that would not only increase overall preparedness and response capability, but also reduce and eliminate potential threats within the security district boundaries; protecting both landside and waterside facilities.
This initiative was funded by federal grants from the Department of Homeland Security, with maintenance, operations and matching dollars for enhancements contributed by the Houston Ship Channel Security District.
