Alongside Carter-Burgess, Shrader Engineering provided electrical engineering design services, controls and instrumentation design for a wastewater treatment plant expansion to 48mgd (ultimate), as well as performed a coordination study and short circuit analysis for the electrical distribution system.

The scope of design included: headworks controls, 12 basin SBR pumping stations and 20 motor operated valve stations, blower controls, multi-channel UV disinfection system, 4 stage filter and 11 pump lift station facilities, surge basin pumping controls, centrifugal sludge dewatering system, 480 volt 6000 amp switchgear and motor control centers, dual 800 kw generators and transfer switches, magnetic flow metering stations, building and plant area lighting, transformer substation and power distribution, as well as a plant SCADA system with Ethernet fiber optic cable links to operator stations and remote panel PLC’s.

Mechanical design services included: air conditioning and ventilation systems for the new blower building, electrical rooms, process buildings and control rooms. Shrader also provided interface coordination for all equipment vendor panels linked to the SCADA system.

Construction services included: submittal reviews, extensive controls testing, programming of SCADA PLC’s, final inspection and operator training.
