PHA BARBOURS CUT TERMINAL PROJECT

Shrader Engineering has received notice to move forward with master planning for electrical, communication and physical security systems related to the renovation of Port of Houston Barbours Cut Container Terminal.

As a subconsultant to Dannenbaum, Shrader Engineering’s major scope items in year one include: 

  • Development of detailed requirements for upgrading terminal utilities (electrical and communications)
  • Development of procurement documents for a new high voltage substation
  • Development of a conceptual electrical model of the renovated facility
  • Development of electrical, communications and physical security components of the procurement documents for the first 1000lf of Wharf

The Port is renovating the 30 year old terminal to prepare for an increase in business they expect after the expansion of the Panama Canal, set to be complete in 2014.
