Electrical Engineer (Marine Terminals & Maritime Energy)

Over the past 15 years, Shrader Engineering Inc. (SEI) has been actively involved in engineering for a variety of marine terminal and maritime energy facilities along the Gulf Coast including ship berths, container yards, large bulk terminals, gate facilities, liquid handling and storage facilities, and intermodal yards.

The firm is seeking a motivated and talented licensed electrical engineer with marine terminal and maritime energy infrastructure design experience. This challenging position involves working as part of a highly specialized electrical team focused on planning and design of electrical systems for marine terminal and maritime energy facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include working closely with other engineers and designers in the development and design of construction plans and specifications for:

  • Medium and High Voltage Power Distribution Systems 
  • Ship-to-Shore Power Systems
  • Gantry Crane Power & Tie-Switching
  • Refrigerated Container Power Stations
  • Automatic Stacking Crane Systems
  • High-Mast Lighting Systems
  • Cathodic Protection Systems
  • Telecom & IT Systems
  • Electronic Security Systems
  • TWIC Implementation
  • Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS)
  • Cyber Security Best Practices
  • Specialized Gate System Technology 

The candidate will be required to manage and oversee the development technical plans and specifications, supervise electrical system modeling, coordinate with client and other disciplines to support project completion, mentor graduate electrical engineers and design staff, and support continued development of the firm’s marine terminal and maritime energy market. 

Candidate Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with P.E. registration in Texas; if licensed outside the State, candidate must be licensed by exam
  • Must have solid background in marine terminal and maritime energy electrical power distribution and standby power systems design
  • Experience performing electrical short-circuit analysis and coordination studies using ETAP or EasyPower modeling software
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects
